Key Dates for Amazon Sellers in Q4 2024

The holiday season is the busiest time of the year for Amazon sellers, and proper planning is essential for success.

From Amazon Prime Big Deal Days to the year-end shopping rush, here are the key dates to keep in mind for Q4 2024:

October 8-9: Amazon Prime Big Deal Days

This exclusive, 48-hour event for Prime members kicks off the holiday shopping season. With massive discounts and deals dropping every five minutes, it’s an excellent opportunity to capture early holiday shoppers.

Make sure your inventory is in Amazon warehouses, Prime listings are optimized, and promotional campaigns are ready to go. The deadline for submitting Lightning Deals and Best Deals was September 7.

October 15: FBA Fulfillment Fees Update

From October 15, Amazon will implement new FBA fulfillment fees that will affect your pricing and margins through January 15, 2025.

Expect increases like $0.20 per item for small standard items and $1.00 for oversized products. Adjust your pricing and strategies accordingly.

October 19: Inventory Deadline for Prime Badge Readiness

To ensure your products are Prime-eligible for Black Friday and Cyber Monday, inventory must be at Amazon warehouses by October 19.

Products with the Prime badge are more likely to be favored by shoppers looking for fast, free shipping.

October 31: Halloween Sales

While not a gift-giving holiday, Halloween generates high sales for costumes, decorations, and party supplies. Stock up and promote early for last-minute shoppers.

November 1: Final Shipping Day for November and December Events

Ensure your products are shipped to Amazon warehouses by November 1 for the key holiday sales period. Prepare your storefront with seasonal designs and promotions to drive traffic and boost sales.

November 21 - December 2: Black Friday and Cyber Monday

Black Friday (November 29) and Cyber Monday (December 2) are among the biggest sales days of the year.

Be prepared with inventory, competitive pricing, and aggressive promotions. Don’t miss out on Small Business Saturday on November 30, which highlights local and small businesses.

December 21-24: Last-Minute Christmas Shopping

Expect a surge in sales from December 21-24 as last-minute shoppers look for gifts. Offer expedited shipping and holiday-themed promotions to capture their attention.

December 26: After-Christmas Sales

Post-holiday shoppers hunt for discounts and deals after Christmas, making December 26 a prime day to clear out leftover inventory and start planning for 2025.

Final Thoughts:

Success during Q4 requires careful planning.

Keep an eye on key dates, optimize your listings, and adjust your pricing strategies to stay competitive.

With the right approach, you can maximize sales during this crucial quarter of sales.

Happy Selling!
